About the Role

Climax Studios, a renowned game development company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gameplay Programmer to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing key game systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities
  • Game System Development: Take ownership of the design and development of key game systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Technical Expertise: Bring your extensive knowledge of game development technologies, including Unreal 4/5, to the table and contribute to the growth and development of our team.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with designers, artists, and other developers to ensure seamless integration of game systems and features.
  • Optimization and Profiling: Effectively profile and optimize game systems to ensure smooth performance and a high-quality player experience.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of commercial game programming experience.
  • Skills: Advanced C++ programming skills, experience with Unreal 4/5, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong analytical skills, excellent time management and organization skills, and a passion for game development.
