About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Individual Needs Assistant to join our team at a dynamic Church of England primary school in Worthing.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting a specific child or group of children with identified needs, helping them to access learning and achieve their goals in our inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Child Progress:
    • Provide one-to-one or small-group support tailored to the child's individual needs.
    • Foster the child's independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
    • Implement strategies outlined in the child's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
    • Regularly update the child's progress and suggest adjustments to strategies.
    • Prepare resources to support the child's learning and inclusion.
  • Promoting Social Skills:
    • Support the child in developing positive relationships with peers.
    • Promote the school's Christian values in interactions with all pupils.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and any interventions used.
    • Contribute to reports and reviews regarding the child's development.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in an educational or care setting.
  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting every child's potential.

Salary: £19,800 per annum
