About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to multiply vulnerable young people with speech, language and communication needs and a diagnosed disability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist assessment and diagnosis of communication disorders in multiply vulnerable young people.
  • Develop and implement highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy treatment plans and evaluate outcomes.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to young people, their families and other professionals regarding the management and support of young people with communication difficulties.
  • Contribute to the development of local policies and procedures related to speech and language therapy services.
  • Participate in departmental research and clinical governance/audit projects as required.

Requirements

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.
  • Health Care Professions Council - Licence to Practice.
  • Substantial experience at specialist level in speech and language therapy.
  • NHS/UK healthcare experience.
