This exciting opportunity exists within the Community Dietetics Assistant role at the NHS, supporting the provision of safe feeding practice and nutritional support across acute and community services. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of registered Dietitians to provide follow-up for patients referred to the Dietitian for nutritional support and other dietetic interventions. You will be responsible for obtaining relevant information from patients and other staff, advising and educating patients on their dietary needs, and assisting in the nutritional monitoring of patients.

You will also support the implementation of dietetic interventions and report findings to the dietitian responsible for the patient's care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work under the supervision of registered Dietitians to provide follow-up for patients referred to the Dietitian for nutritional support and other dietetic interventions
  • Obtaining relevant information from patients, other staff and electronic notes
  • Assist in the nutritional monitoring of patients by collecting specified information such as anthropometric measurements, biochemistry, nutritional intake and support the implementation of dietetic interventions, reporting findings to the Dietitian responsible for the patient's care
Requirements

A good level of general education including A levels and GCSE or equivalents including functional skills level 2. An advanced / higher level apprenticeship for example AP apprenticeship or similar and / or NVQ level 4 in relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.

Able to demonstrate substantial experience in health and care settings including in the relevant field of work. Demonstrate the values of the NHS and commitment to personal and professional development.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £26,530 to £29,114 per annum, pro rata. The NHS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and access to training and development opportunities.
