Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the cleaning of the hard floors in the museum using a floor machine, as well as tidying the bin area and keeping it clean and the exterior bins locked.

You will also be assisting the Schools and Families Officer with the preparation and dismantling of rooms for school workshops, which may involve manual handling.

Additionally, you will be assisting the Visitor Operations Manager with the set-up of areas for various functions from the lecture theatre for talks to private hire events, which may involve setting up furniture and laying out equipment.

Other key responsibilities include inspecting the interior & exterior of the building for general cleanliness on a daily basis, occasional window cleaning at the front of the building, and sweeping leaves and debris to the exit route at the rear of the building.

The role also involves cleaning the activities room, including sweeping, wiping tables, mopping the floor, and emptying bins.

You will also be responsible for cleaning the back areas of the building at least once per week, including mopping floors and stairs, and vacuuming stairs and offices.

Other duties include vacuuming the lecture theatre before events, occasional mopping required, cleaning the Winstone Learning Centre, and emptying kitchen bin if required.

Finally, you will be responsible for reporting any defects seen around the building and covering cleaning duties when the other cleaner is absent.
