Museum Caretaker

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cleaner/Caretaker to join our team at the Corinium Museum. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the museum's interior and exterior spaces.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the cleaning of the hard floors in the museum using a floor machine
• Responsible for tidying the bin area and keeping it clean and the exterior bins locked
• Assisting the Schools and Families Officer with the preparation and dismantling of rooms for school workshops
• Assisting the Visitor Operations Manager with the set-up of areas for various functions from the lecture theatre for talks to private hire events
• Inspecting the interior & exterior of the building for general cleanliness on a daily basis
• Cleaning the activities room, including sweeping, wiping tables, mopping the floor and emptying bins
• Cleaning the back areas of the building at least once per week
• Reporting any defects seen around the building
• Covering cleaning duties when the other cleaner is absent
