Job Title: Youth Activities and Party Coordinator

Job Description

  • Reports to: Junior Activities Manager
  • Department: Junior Activities Department

Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality childcare and lead daily activities and parties for children aged 2-14 years, ensuring their safety and well-being in accordance with Ofsted Welfare Requirements.

Judgment and Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the overall care and safety of children, ensuring their needs are met and age-appropriate.

Teamwork and Initiative:

  • Contribute to the motivation and development of other Junior Instructors, monitoring performance and using own initiative to work as part of a team.

Care Standards:

  • Work alongside Ofsted Welfare Requirements, ensuring the care, maintenance, and security of equipment and toys.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure health, safety, and security standards are maintained at all times, adhering to Ofsted regulations and departmental procedures.

General Duties:

  • Provide safe and fun out-of-school childcare, wearing appropriate PPE when handling food.
  • Arrive on site 15 minutes before activities commence, being well-prepared to lead sessions.
  • Complete registers and perform regular head counts to ensure awareness of children in care.
  • Provide structured sessions with various activities, suitable for the age group.
  • Ensure equality of care and provision to all children, using judgment skills and initiative to include them in activities.
  • Create enthusiasm and motivation to participate in activities by interacting with children and joining in.
  • Act as a role model, conducting yourself accordingly, and abide by agreed procedures for disciplining children.
  • Work as part of a team, supporting other Instructors and Junior Co-ordinators during operations.
  • Share work equally among instructors and support new members of staff to the best of your experience.
  • Interact with parents/carers to ensure satisfaction with childcare provided and inform them of Colets club and junior activities procedures.
