A dynamic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager/Commercial Manager to join our team as a Strategic Regional Commercial Lead. This role will involve handling a full range of commercial management duties while reporting directly to the Commercial Directors and supporting/mentoring the commercial team working on regional projects.

This is an excellent time to be joining Magnus James due to successful new contracts and extensions across multiple regions in the UK. Internal career growth opportunities are achievable, and we encourage candidates to apply if they have gained experience in Highways or similar infrastructure projects and have progressed their career through to management level (or are looking for Managing level as their next step).

The successful candidate will cover the Eastern region, including areas such as Kent, Norfolk, and Essex, and will be required to visit sites and clients regularly. Hybrid working options are available, with flexibility discussed during the interview process.

Requirements:
  • 6+ years' commercial experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with prior experience at commercial manager level.
  • Ideally, you will have some form of degree or educational background in Quantity Surveying.
  • Prior experience working on highways infrastructure projects, ideally term maintenance contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, capable of sub-contractor management and on-site QS duties as well as a full range of reporting responsibilities.
  • Have experience working for a Main contractor working on infrastructure projects.
  • Capable of handling all commercial management responsibilities, managing teams up to 30 persons in size and varying/complex project contracts.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full clean driving licence.
