About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Paediatric Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill children in our Paediatric High Dependency Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the care of critically ill children, including those with complex medical conditions and those requiring life-sustaining interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each child and their family.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including medical, nursing, and allied health services.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in Paediatric Critical Care.
Requirements
  • Registered Paediatric Nurse on the NMC register.
  • Experience of working in a Paediatric Critical Care environment, preferably in a high dependency or intensive care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to contribute to the advancement of Paediatric Critical Care.
