Job Overview

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Perioperative Medicines Pharmacist to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. This role will involve working closely with the pre-assessment team to develop medicines optimisation services to support the elective recovery workstream.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in pharmacy and be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council. They will also have experience of training and supervising other staff, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Develop medicines optimisation services to support the elective recovery workstream
  • Work closely with the pre-assessment team to establish pre-admission medicines history and ensure safe and effective prescribing
  • Mentor and supervise other staff, including trainee pharmacists and work experience students
  • Attend consultant ward rounds and provide clinical pharmacy services
