p>Are you a skilled mechanical design engineer looking for a new challenge?

Our client, a leading company in the industry, is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to join their team as an apprentice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects, including mechanical design on factories, warehouses, distribution centers, and associated buildings.

The ideal candidate will have around 5 years of building services design experience and a home office suitable for working from home 3-4 days a week. A car allowance of over £5,000 is also part of the deal. The company offers a good pension, healthcare, and generous bonus schemes, as well as opportunities for career development across the group.

As a mechanical design engineer apprentice, you will work with a team of experienced engineers, including mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration design engineers, as well as architects, project engineers, and quantity surveyors. You will be responsible for designing a full range of HVAC services, including some more specialist ones, such as steam and compressed air. You will also be involved in feasibility, concept design, testing, and inspection, and will have the opportunity to go to site, hold client briefs, and design team meetings.

Here are the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Design mechanical systems for factories, warehouses, distribution centers, and associated buildings.
  • Work with a team of experienced engineers to deliver projects on time and to budget.
  • Design a full range of HVAC services, including some more specialist ones, such as steam and compressed air.
  • Be involved in feasibility, concept design, testing, and inspection.
  • Go to site, hold client briefs, and design team meetings.


What You'll Need:
  • Around 5 years of building services design experience.
  • A home office suitable for working from home 3-4 days a week.
  • A car to travel to site and head office.
