About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Podiatrist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fixed-term post to cover maternity leave, providing an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment to clients in community and outreach clinics, hospitals, clients' homes, health centers, care homes, and day centers.
  • Develop treatment plans and discharge plans through agreed contracts with each client, and follow through with treatment plans to achieve improved foot pathology and discharge where appropriate.
  • Participate in specialist teams when required, undertaking a high-risk patient caseload, and rotating through three Podiatric Specialist teams to update clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Be responsible for protecting the health and wellbeing of all clients, alerting others to concerns where protection may be required for both children and vulnerable adults.
  • Refer clients to specialist teams within the department or primary care, community, or acute settings as needed.
Person Specification
  • HCPC Registered Podiatrist
  • BSc (Hons) Podiatry
  • Postgraduate qualifications in relevant areas
Requirements
  • Worked as a band 5 podiatrist for a minimum of 12 months
  • Previous NHS experience in wound care
  • Domiciliary and nursing home experience
  • Experience with research, audit, or quality improvement
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication skills - written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Previous wound care/high-risk foot experience
  • Driver's license and access to a vehicle
