Job Title: Clinical Social Work Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Social Work Consultant to join our team at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work services to children and young people with mental health problems.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in social work, with experience in working with children and young people with complex mental health needs. You will be responsible for assessing and treating children and their families, providing expert care, advice, and support to ensure the best possible outcomes.

You will work closely with our quadrant leadership team to develop and implement effective social work strategies, ensuring that our services meet the needs of our service users and carers. You will also be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to social workers, students, and multi-disciplinary staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat children and young people with mental health problems, providing expert care, advice, and support.
  • Develop and implement effective social work strategies, working closely with the quadrant leadership team.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to social workers, students, and multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including children's services, health, and the voluntary sector, to promote effective service provision.
  • Ensure that all services users and carers are treated with compassion, dignity, and respect, placing value on the diversity of the local community.
Requirements
  • Substantial experience in senior social work practice role within the community.
  • Proven track record of developing staff, setting, delivering, and monitoring standards of social work/social care practice.
  • Demonstrate an advanced knowledge base relevant in relation to social work and children, children looked after, and those on the edge of care.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic methods and models of assessment and interventions with children and young people.
