About the Role

Nacro is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our Essex NEST team in Harlow. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct housing-related support services to young people aged 16-21, including those at risk of homelessness, care leavers, and vulnerable young parents.

Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with service users to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans. You will also be responsible for maximizing rent collection, ensuring successful housing and welfare benefit claims, and maintaining accurate records of service user progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver effective support and safety plans with service users, referring to specialist agencies as needed.
  • Maximize rent collection and ensure successful housing and welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained.
  • Ensure routine property maintenance and damage are reported promptly to maintenance staff.
  • Hold a DBS check and a full UK driving license with access to a vehicle for travel across the county.
