Job Title: Senior Cost Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Careers. As a key member of our Estates team, you will be responsible for managing costs and budgets of construction projects, from early cost advice to settlement of the final account.

Your primary focus will be on providing proactive, strategic, and experienced cost management services, reviewing processes, and delivering positive outcomes within an Estates environment. You will be the owner of internal quantity surveying and cost management, managing customer relationships (internal and external), and driving cost savings initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide cost management services for construction projects, including early cost advice, cost planning, and cost control.
  • Manage customer relationships (internal and external) to ensure effective communication and delivery of cost management services.
  • Review and improve processes to deliver cost savings and efficiency gains.
  • Develop and implement cost management strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective delivery of Estates services.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost management, and Estates management.
  • Strong knowledge of cost management principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
