Role Overview

Chevron Traffic Management is seeking a skilled Traffic Management Operative to join our team in Scunthorpe. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of traffic during roadworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake traffic counts, calls to clients and subcontractors, timings and near misses.
  • Maintenance of temporary traffic lights
  • Installing, maintaining and removing temporary traffic management such as deploying: cones, signs, frames, sandbags and other equipment.
  • Helping and guiding new trainees

Requirements

  • SLG Unit 2 or M1 / M2 qualified as a minimum
  • 12d Lantra qualification is highly desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Chapter 8
  • Full driving licence, with no more than 6 points. Any driving bans must have been expired for at least 5 years
  • Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Positive "can-do" attitude

  • Meticulous attention to detail

Working Hours

Guaranteed hours of work are 48 hours per week depending on location and rota. Hours and shifts include days, evenings, nights and weekends with the option of overtime as required. You will also be required to be on the on-call rota. Shift rotation 7 days on and 3 days off, then another 7 days on and 3 days off, followed by 4 days on and 4 days off. This means you will work only 2 weekends per month.
