About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Lead to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership for our women's secure and forensic mental health services, with a particular focus on care pathways into, through, and out of secure and forensic services for women.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership for the development and implementation of care pathways for women with mental health needs who are in contact with the criminal justice system or have complex needs that require secure inpatient care or community forensic clinical services.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including NHS trusts, independent sector providers, and other agencies, to develop and maintain effective partnerships and redesign services to improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve staff engagement, motivation, and performance, with a focus on improving patient experience and service performance.
  • Collaborate with senior professionals and peers to ensure delivery of objectives and hold them to account for their performance.
  • Provide teaching, training, and education to colleagues, other agencies, and educational settings on forensic mental health and related topics.
Requirements
  • Management qualification or professional qualification (RMN, OT, Psychologist, or Social Worker) or equivalent level of experience and proven ability to perform at this level.
  • Professional registration in a health or social care profession (GMC, NMC, HCPC, or SWE).
  • Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in a consultant or professional lead role within forensic mental health.
  • Experience of providing teaching, training, and education to colleagues and other agencies.
  • Good understanding of change management, budget management, efficiency savings, and financial recovery plans.
  • Experience of using new ways of working to modernize services without additional resources.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective partnerships with stakeholders in the redesign of services.
  • Measurable track record in involving and motivating staff to improve performance.
  • Excellent analytical skills to communicate service decisions both internally and externally to the organization.
  • Good working knowledge of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act legislation.
