About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrub Nurse/ODP to join our team in a busy and dynamic operating theatre environment. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for surgical procedures, ensuring accurate labelling and dispatch of specimens to the laboratory.
  2. Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment, adhering to departmental policies on infection control and asepsis.
  3. Participate in the induction and orientation of new staff, promoting a welcoming and supportive environment.
  4. Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
  5. Provide assistance during clinical and operative procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  6. Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner, ensuring patient, visitor, and staff safety.
  7. Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate perioperative patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  8. Delegating and supervising junior grades, unqualified, and less experienced staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements:

  1. 1st level registration Adult and/or Children or Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies / ODP Level 3 NVQ / ODA 752.
  2. Previous perioperative experience in Gynaecology, Urology, and Robotics is essential.
  3. NMC or HCPC registered.
  4. Ability to deliver high standards of care, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
  5. Knowledge of current professional nursing issues, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
