This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break each day.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Purchasing team with day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.
  2. Assist with the management of Dashboards, KPIs, trackers, and Purchasing reporting.
  3. Coordinate purchases and related processes.
  4. Maintain strong relationships and effective communication with suppliers and internal contacts.
  5. Aid the Purchasing Manager with team training, coaching, and development.

Your Day-to-Day Role:

  1. Work in a fast-paced, energetic team that strives for personal and professional excellence.
  2. Provide team member training and coaching.
  3. Manage purchasing tasks and processes across the department.
  4. Support Account management with supplier feedback and meeting content.
  5. Develop strategies to find cost-effective ways of working.
  6. Place orders with suppliers for non-stock and stock items once sales orders have been received.
  7. Ensure direct delivery to sites is fulfilled, and accurate information is provided to suppliers.
  8. Liaise and communicate closely with the Sales department for enquiry handovers.
  9. Maintain strong working relationships with vendors.
  10. Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors for discrepancies.
  11. Assist the Inventory team with daily stock reports and orders to maintain min-max levels.
  12. Liaise with VJ Technology warehouses, transfer stock, and manage discrepancies.
  13. Review and monitor stock reports, adjusting and re-ordering as needed.
  14. Support Health and Safety responsibilities for the Purchasing department.

Your Skills and Competencies:

  1. Prior people management experience.
  2. Prior experience in a fast-paced construction or related industry procurement department (desirable).
  3. Knowledge of the Procurement, Market, and Competitors (desirable).
  4. Ability to liaise effectively and build relationships with suppliers.
  5. Proficient in using IT packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  6. Objective and KPI setting and tracking knowledge.
  7. Proactive and flexible approach to plan and meet demanding deadlines.

Job Type: Fixed-term contract
Contract Length: 12 months
Pay: From £29,000.00 per year
