VJ Technology is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Team Leader to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break each day.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Purchasing team with day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.
- Assist with the management of Dashboards, KPIs, trackers, and Purchasing reporting.
- Coordinate purchases and related processes.
- Maintain strong relationships and effective communication with suppliers and internal contacts.
- Aid the Purchasing Manager with team training, coaching, and development.
Your Day-to-Day Role:
- Work in a fast-paced, energetic team that strives for personal and professional excellence.
- Provide team member training and coaching.
- Manage purchasing tasks and processes across the department.
- Support Account management with supplier feedback and meeting content.
- Develop strategies to find cost-effective ways of working.
- Place orders with suppliers for non-stock and stock items once sales orders have been received.
- Ensure direct delivery to sites is fulfilled, and accurate information is provided to suppliers.
- Liaise and communicate closely with the Sales department for enquiry handovers.
- Maintain strong working relationships with vendors.
- Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors for discrepancies.
- Assist the Inventory team with daily stock reports and orders to maintain min-max levels.
- Liaise with VJ Technology warehouses, transfer stock, and manage discrepancies.
- Review and monitor stock reports, adjusting and re-ordering as needed.
- Support Health and Safety responsibilities for the Purchasing department.
Your Skills and Competencies:
- Prior people management experience.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced construction or related industry procurement department (desirable).
- Knowledge of the Procurement, Market, and Competitors (desirable).
- Ability to liaise effectively and build relationships with suppliers.
- Proficient in using IT packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Objective and KPI setting and tracking knowledge.
- Proactive and flexible approach to plan and meet demanding deadlines.
Job Type: Fixed-term contract
Contract Length: 12 months
Pay: From £29,000.00 per year
