A typical day in the life as a Security Officer:

  • Work closely with the Contract Manager (East), Site Lead, and Customer representative to manage and deliver the Customer's requirements.
  • Be the immediate response to first aid emergencies within the site.
  • Carry out fire risk assessments as directed by the Site Lead or Customer's representative.
  • Ensure that the site adheres to Fire Precautions to the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and workplace.
  • Carry out incident assessments and dynamic risk assessments.
  • Be fully conversant with all aspects of the computer-operated fire alarm system.
  • Be an initial point of contact for all daily operational fire safety, health, and safety, and security-related matters across the site.

  • DS SIA Licence
  • Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • An ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, being able to adapt style to meet the needs of the situation.
  • An ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal reports.
  • A flexibility to work shifts, including weekends.
  • An ability to demonstrate proactive and innovative ways of thinking to introduce new ways of working into the workplace.
  • Competent on Microsoft packages.
  • Able to carry out diverse and demanding duties on a multi-floored site.
  • Effective briefing and debriefing skills.
  • Be capable of safely using firefighting equipment.
  • Able to do days & nights on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
  • Experience of Lift Entrapments.
  • Lift rescue qualified (within the first 6 months of appointment).
