Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Manager to join our Programme Delivery team at the Leadership Skills Foundation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in activating research activities that inform our leadership skills programmes and contribute to the empowerment of young people from diverse backgrounds.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing research and impact projects, developing research proposals and methodologies, and interpreting and analysing research to derive meaningful insights. They will also be expected to present research findings, identify and recommend new research projects, and engage with the Leadership team to understand research requirements and align with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage research and impact projects, including primary and secondary research using a range of methodologies.
  • Develop and manage research proposals and methodologies to address strategic goals.
  • Interpret and analyse research to derive meaningful insights and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Present research findings to stakeholders, including the Leadership team and external partners.
  • Identify and recommend new research and evaluation projects to address gaps in our current evidence base.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in a subject with substantial statistical or research content.
  • Proven experience of working in a relevant research role, including leading/managing research projects and designing research proposals.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task and deliver at pace.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present information confidently to a diverse range of stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Line management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the sector, including trends, challenges, and best practices.

  • A confident, collaborative manager who wants to make a positive social difference.
  • Pro-active with the ability to work on own initiative collaboratively and independently.
  • Effective and confident communicator.
  • Adaptable to operational requirements, with an openness to give and receive constructive feedback as part of a growth mindset.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time role, with the ability to travel across the UK required.
