Job Title: Head of Counterparty Credit Risk Management

Citi is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the Institutional Credit Management (ICM) underwriting function, focusing on counterparty credit risk management for alternative asset management clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a global team responsible for underwriting and managing counterparty credit risk for hedge funds, private equity, and institutional family office clients.
  • Develop and implement credit underwriting standards and policies to ensure consistency across regions.
  • Collaborate with 2nd Line of Defense colleagues to review and approve client reviews, credit facilities, and transactions.
  • Negotiate credit structures and documentation with clients.
  • Provide oversight and challenge for the business, covering a full range of products.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services and risk management, with significant counterparty credit risk experience in banking/financial institutions.
  • Proven track record of managing people and leading global teams.
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives and structured lending.
Client Relationships / Business Partnership:
  • Navigate organizational complexity and break silos to create and sustain strong partnerships with the business and other risk functions.
  • Proven ability to partner with global peers to leverage and implement best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Provide well-reasoned, balanced assessments of risk/return trade-offs associated with transactions and client relationships.
  • Proficiency in flow and complex financing and product structures.
  • Ability to provide strategic insights and strong sensitivity to macro and regulatory issues.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
