A leading recruitment agency, Page Personnel Finance, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the company's financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and reconcile sales invoices, ensuring all costs have been allocated and stock adjusted where necessary.
  • Enter purchase invoices and proforma payments into the company's accounting system.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations and post any Direct Debits.
  • Run BACS payments and ensure suppliers with settlement discounts are deducted.
  • Update sales spreadsheets and adjust stock levels as required.
  • Prepare month-end financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Reconcile reports to the trial balance, including fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany accounts.
  • Perform stock reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Reconcile petty cash and post transactions.
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a finance or accounting environment.
  • Multi-currency experience is desirable.
  • Sage 50 experience is also desirable.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills are essential.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent is an advantage.
