Job Summary:

Daytime Healthcare Recruitment Limited is partnering with a renowned private hospital group in the UK to recruit an experienced Orthopaedic Theatre Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a small team and working closely with a Theatre Manager and other Team Leads to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Support the Theatre Manager in leading, teaching, counseling, and appraising staff to ensure development needs are identified and met. Implement personal development plans to meet ongoing development needs.
  • Clinical Supervision: Supervise and educate junior staff, Registered Nurses, and Operating Department Practitioners, and carry out clinical supervision.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to the overall advancement of the Operating Department to promote excellence in clinical care.
  • Role Modeling: Act as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise, leading, managing, and delivering excellence in clinical care.
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare the operating theatre room for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment, and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum.
  • Patient Assessment: Assess patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC or NMC registration.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of orthopaedic scrub experience and previous leadership experience.
  • Skills: Passionate and driven, with the ability to demonstrate dynamic thinking.
  • Training: Completed SFA training would be an advantage.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 18:00pm and 12:30pm - 21:00pm.
  • Occasional Saturdays: 08:00am - 17:00pm.
