Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct linguistic analyses on extensive datasets to identify patterns and trends.
  • Analyze linguistic errors in AI model outputs to identify common categories and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Develop and update guidelines for annotation and translation projects to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Perform typological and sociolinguistic research on multiple languages to identify similarities and differences.
  • Analyze linguistic phenomena for Responsible AI initiatives in diverse linguistic environments.
  • Review literature on NLP-related topics and summarize key findings to inform project decisions.
  • Evaluate vendor deliveries for quality, identify patterns of error, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Offer linguistic expertise on various aspects such as typology, syntax, sociolinguistics, phonetics, and more.
  • Collaborate with native speakers of different languages and communicate analytical results to technical teams.

Requirements:

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Near-native proficiency in a non-English language (CEFRL C2 level).
  • Proficiency in Python coding and database querying (SQL), knowledge of other data analysis languages such as R is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle complex requests effectively.
  • Strong project management skills and self-motivation.
  • Familiarity with international language classification standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Must hold a graduate degree in Linguistics or a related field, with a background in corpus linguistics being beneficial.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of linguistic fields and some experience with Natural Language Processing techniques.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contributing to research papers.
