Product Owner

Park Holidays UK is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Owner to join our Digital Development Team. This position will be working as part of the Digital Development Team delivering a website rebuild project initially, working alongside an internal delivery team and a third-party delivery company. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the product aligns with business objectives, meets customer needs, and delivers value to the organization.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that the product roadmap aligns with the delivery project's goals and timelines.
- Developing comprehensive documentation that outlines tasks, dependencies, and resource requirements, adapting them to the project's evolving needs and requirements.
- Utilizing tools like Jira to create and manage tasks, track progress, and facilitate agile methodologies within daily standups, answering questions and taking actions for investigation.
- Providing regular updates on project status, key metrics, and risks to stakeholders.
The successful candidate's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including:
- Product Vision and Strategy: Defining the product's long-term vision, aligning it with business goals, and collaborating on the master roadmap to align with development.
- Prioritization: Determining the order in which features and functionalities will be implemented based on business value, technical feasibility, and user needs.
- Backlog Management: Maintaining and grooming a prioritized backlog of product requirements, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with the product vision.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicating with all levels of stakeholders, including executives, customers, and development team members, to gather feedback, address concerns and maintain alignment.
- Feature Definition: Writing clear, concise, and well-defined user stories that capture the desired functionality, acceptance criteria, and value proposition.
- Product Launch: Overseeing the launch of new product features or releases, ensuring a smooth transition and addressing any issues that arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Gathering user feedback, analyzing product metrics, and identifying opportunities for improvement to enhance the product's value and performance.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks that could impact the product's development or success.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinating with various internal departments and external agencies, to ensure alignment and effective product delivery.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Using data and analytics to inform product decisions and measure the impact of product features and changes.
- Agile Methodology: Understanding and applying agile principles and practices to facilitate iterative development and continuous improvement.
- Customer Centricity: Prioritizing the needs and preferences of customers throughout the product development process.
- Technical Understanding: Possessing a basic understanding of technical concepts to effectively communicate with the development team and make informed decisions.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during product development, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Adaptability: Being flexible and open to change as the product evolves and market conditions shift.
