Mobile Plant Technician

FTH Hire Group is a leading independent plant and tool hire company with a strong presence in the UK market. As a result of our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking to add high-calibre individuals to our team to support our expanding business.

We are committed to providing top-quality equipment, which is always in stock. Our plant hire fleet is regularly updated to ensure customers have access to modern, efficient, and reliable machines. We currently have a requirement for a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to be based out of our Southampton depot, covering areas where our plant and tool hires are in use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing, servicing, and maintaining all tools and powered access equipment, including electrical and hydraulic repairs, as well as petrol and diesel engine maintenance.
  • Responding to breakdowns at customer sites
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team in a workshop environment
  • PAT Testing is highly desirable
  • Completing relevant repair and service documentation, requiring strong computer literacy skills
  • Participating in training programs as required

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineering principles
  • Ability to work a standard Monday to Friday schedule, with regular working hours
