We are Secure Care UK, a pioneering provider of secure patient transport services, dedicated to delivering exceptional care and safety to our patients. As a Mental Health Transport Assistant, you will join our team of passionate professionals who share our commitment to excellence and compassion.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual who can provide safe and respectful transportation services to patients with mental health needs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate resilience. Full training will be provided, including Patient Care, De-Escalation Techniques, Physical Intervention, Handcuff Training, and First Aid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing safe and respectful transportation to patients with mental health needs
  • Assisting patients during transfers and ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any incidents or concerns

Benefits:

  • A blended rate of £12.37 per hour (Day, Night, and Weekend Shifts)
  • Annual remuneration starting from £26,593.80 based on expected hours
  • Enhanced pay of £1.20 extra per hour for work at a Mental Health 'place of safety' and for bed watch activities

Requirements:

  • Valid Full UK Manual Driving License with minimum 12 months driving experience
  • Maintain Enhanced DBS
  • Excellent communication skills, including IT ability
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure whilst delivering genuine care

Working Hours:

Full-time contracts average 40.3 hours per week, worked on a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern, alternating between days and nights. Usual working hours are 6:30am-7:30pm and 7pm-7am. Flexible contracts also available.
