Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with our experienced teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to deliver tailored interventions that aim to enhance the learning, development, and language acquisition of our students.

About the School

Our school caters to children aged 4-16 with severe learning difficulties (SLD). Most of our students have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, Teachers, and other professionals. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering interventions to children with speech, language, and communicational needs in small groups and 1:1
  • Working in partnership with the school's teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to deliver specific interventions
  • Supporting a small class of 7-10 students

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong passion for supporting young people with Severe, Profound, and Multiple Learning Difficulties. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
