Educational Psychologist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educational Psychologist to join our team at South Gloucestershire Council. As an Educational Psychologist, you will play a key role in promoting inclusion and supporting the development of children and young people in our schools and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with individual children, teachers, and other adults in schools, families, and local authority officers to contribute to the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Support schools in delivering the graduated approach for children, young people, and young adults with Special Educational Needs through systemic work, casework, training, and evidence-informed interventions.
- Carry out psychological assessments as part of the Education, Health, and Care (EHC) needs assessment and Annual Review process.
- Lead on an area of interest within the service and contribute to the development of joined-up working with other professionals and agencies.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- A fully qualified Educational Psychologist with a recognised teaching qualification, at least two years of qualified classroom teaching experience, and a Masters qualification in Educational Psychology or a Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
- Experience of working as a main scale Educational Psychologist and the ability to demonstrate high-quality casework, strategic thinking, innovative practice, and the use of initiative to develop project work.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting schools and early years' settings.
