About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educational Psychologist to join our team at South Gloucestershire Council. As a key member of our professional team, you will play a vital role in promoting inclusion and supporting the development of children and young people in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with schools, families, and other local authority officers to contribute to the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Support schools in delivering the graduated approach for children with Special Educational Needs, through systemic work, casework, and training.
  • Conduct psychological assessments as part of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and Annual Review process.
  • Lead on areas of interest within the service and contribute to the development of joined-up working with other professionals and agencies.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • A fully qualified Educational Psychologist with a recognized teaching qualification and at least two years of qualified classroom teaching experience, or a Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
  • Experience of working as a main scale Educational Psychologist and ability to demonstrate high-quality casework, strategic thinking, and innovative practice.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting schools and early years' settings.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and conform to administrative requirements.
