We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Project Specialist to join our team in Northwich. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and gaining experience on a diverse range of projects including ground investigations, contaminated land assessments, geotechnical design, remediation design, verification, Part 2A investigations, due diligence surveys, and more.

About the Role:
  1. You will be managing and supervising ground investigations involving various techniques, managing subcontractors, logging and sampling soil and rock to BS5930, monitoring gas and groundwater, undertaking in-situ tests, validation works, etc.
  2. Scheduling chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.
  3. Producing drawings (including in CAD).
  4. Writing desk-based Phase I geo-environmental assessment reports and Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRAs).
  5. Writing Interpretive reports (Phase II geo-environmental assessment, qualitative and generic quantitative risk assessment, ground gas assessment, geotechnical assessment).
  6. Communicating with project managers over requirements, including preparing invoice breakdowns on completion of works.
  7. Liaising with sub-contractors and clients to assist in the delivery of projects.
  8. Complying with internal policies, procedures, and ISO standards.
  9. Earthworks and materials/waste management including knowledge of MMPs under the CL:AIRE DoWCoP.
  10. Having a detailed knowledge of soil mechanics, determining characteristic values and calculation of foundation bearing capacities (shallow and deep foundations) and settlements.
Requirements:
  1. An undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in a relevant subject (geology, environmental science, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, physical geography, etc).
  2. A good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Holebase is desirable.
  3. Full UK driving license (manual transmission).
  4. A strong work ethic, able to work effectively either alone or as part of a small team.
Remuneration:

The salary for this position is circa £50,000 per annum, with opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
