About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide specialist commercial and technology-related legal advice to the Acturis Group, covering commercial contracts, IT/IP/data issues, Data Protection, and general legal advice.

As a Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer, you will work closely with our CEOs and senior stakeholders to advise on legal matters and shape commercial decisions. You will be responsible for managing particular sectors/subsidiaries within the group, developing in-depth knowledge of business relationships, and advising on the legal implications of all aspects of our rapidly expanding international business.

Key responsibilities include negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and advising on a broad range of commercial technology contracts, advising on Data Protection issues, and proactively following legal developments to update the business and plan legal processes and improvements.

As a Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer, you will be a self-starter who shows initiative and takes pride in their work. You will be a UK Qualified Lawyer with 4-6 years post-qualification experience, strong private practice training contract gained at a City, West End, or reputable regional law firm, and strong academic background.

We are looking for someone with strong negotiation and drafting skills, relevant technical skills, and the ability to work within a commercial environment in a business-facing role. You will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and a desire to work proactively as part of a dynamic legal team in a fast-paced environment with direct access to senior decision makers.

Key Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Lawyer
  • 4-6 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong private practice training contract gained at a City, West End, or reputable regional law firm
  • Strong academic background
  • Experience in a software or new technology company is desirable but not essential
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills with good attention to detail
  • Relevant technical skills coupled with ability to work within a commercial environment in a business-facing role
  • Strong commercial acumen and the motivation to proactively contribute to the success of this innovative, ambitious, and fast-growing business
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Desire to work proactively as part of a dynamic legal team in a fast-paced environment with direct access to senior decision makers
