Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Surgical Therapy team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing clinical assessment and treatment for complex surgical patients, including rehabilitation and respiratory components of care.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide clinical assessment and treatment for complex surgical patients, including rehabilitation and respiratory components of care.
  • Support the delivery of training and development of junior members of staff to develop clinical skills.
  • Support a busy team of Physios, OTs, TAs, and APs alongside the existing Band 7 team, providing clinical and pastoral supervision.
  • Contribute to in-service training programs.
  • Support Therapy lead and Band 7 team in performance monitoring and management of the team, including regular data collection and information gathering to contribute to monthly care group reports.
  • Provide supervision and appraisal to Bands 5-3.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration.

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable post-registration experience.
  • Majority of clinical experience in the NHS UK.
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of a contribution to clinical education/supervision of less experienced staff, students, or assistants.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Broad range of clinical assessment and treatment skills based on current best practice.
  • Demonstrates an ability to comprehend and work within policies on health and safety, risk management, and data protection.
  • Working knowledge of current NHS issues.
  • Evidence of self-directed learning and willingness to participate in CPD.

Skills

  • Demonstrates effective and adaptable communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Evidence of time management and organisational skills.
