About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Test Engineer to join our team at BSI. As a key member of our operations, you will play a crucial role in certifying the safety of products for global consumers, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and conform to stringent industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement test set-ups/test rigs to simulate normal use and conditions of products
  • Perform initial calibration checks on testing equipment prior to undertaking measurements and recording of any results in accordance to ISO standards
  • Interpret and navigate standards to lead tests, obtain results and data to generate a verdict to a specific clause
  • Support the team in scoping out new efficiencies within testing and generate ideas in support of future CAPEX to obtain new equipment and methods
  • Contribute towards a safe working environment, identifying areas of improvement and writing and reviewing of risk assessments
Requirements
  • Previous background and education in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Sound knowledge & awareness of electrical principles and an understanding of measurements (electrical & distance measurements)
  • Experience with medical electrical equipment standards - IEC/EN 60601
  • Ability to use and interpret testing equipment, including load banks, multimeters, flash testers & earth bond testers
  • Excellent project management skills, setting up multiple test rigs and undertaking and coordinating multiple projects concurrently across a variety of different tests
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and report technical data/findings and write test reports with the use of MS Word & Excel
