Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our CAMHS team in Barnsley. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work as a non-medical prescriber, prescribing medication as required and in accordance with Trust and national policies.
  • Provide advice and support to other clinicians, acting as a source of expertise in CAMHS community care provision.
  • Develop and deliver clinical management plans for clients, working closely with medical personnel and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of alternative ways of working through the introduction of non-medical prescribing.
  • Work in close collaboration with medical personnel, developing and delivering clinical management plans for clients.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health or Registered Nurse Learning Disability.
  • Relevant teaching qualification.
  • Recognised qualification in non-medical prescribing.
  • Supplementary Prescriber.
  • Independent Prescriber.
  • A current driving license and access to a car during the working day.
Person Specification

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with good communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have a current philosophy underpinning CAMHS community care provision and awareness of accountability of own and others roles in a nurse-led service.

Training and Experience

The successful candidate will have postgraduate study to Masters Level or equivalent in a field related to nursing in mental health and or learning disability. They will also have experience of working as a non-medical prescriber and in a senior role in care of children and young people with mental health needs and or learning disability.
