About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major Dreadnought project, one of the biggest and most complex engineering programmes nationally.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead Test and Commissioning activities of on-board electrical systems, working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out routine work with limited supervision and having an understanding of safety consequences in a high-risk environment.
  • Instructing and mentoring less experienced members of the team within your knowledge and competency.
  • Researching, reviewing, and interrogating technical design documentation and drawings, and subsequently creating test documentation.
  • Representing the company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements.
  • Delivering assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures, and legislation.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You'll also receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave incentive, and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation of system operations, ideally hydraulic, pressurised air and gas, domestic and chilled water.
  • Experience in commissioning complex systems power plants, motors, and high voltage systems.
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of test equipment and activities required for specific tests.
  • Awareness of Nuclear Site/Authorisation Conditions.
