Job Title: Fitter

A&P Tyne is a leading provider of ship repair and maintenance services, and we are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Fitter to work on a variety of vessels, including offshore vessels, dredgers, and tankers. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for completing mechanical overhauls, repairs, renewals, and modifications of vessel equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and repairs on various vessels through inspecting, diagnosing, and then repairing mechanical and structural issues
  • Work will include thrusters and blades, rudders, propellers, tail shafts, pumps, compressors, bow/stern doors, ramps, and winches
  • You will transport items through the vessel as required by fleeting using lifting equipment
  • Assisting in the overhaul, repair, renew, or modification of the vessel's main engines, generators, compressors, and other engineering equipment
  • Vital maintenance within the facility
Requirements:
  • Time served fitter, able to read technical drawings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Slinging, Forklift Driving, and Mobile Elevating Work Platform experience would be great
  • Manual Handling capability
