A&P Tyne is a centre of excellence for offshore vessels, dredgers, and tankers based on the Tyne, one of the busiest rivers in the UK.
As a Fitter, you will work on the ships in our docks, performing vital maintenance and repairs. Your role will involve inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and structural issues, including thrusters and blades, rudders, propellers, tail shafts, pumps, compressors, bow/stern doors, ramps, and winches.
Main Responsibilities:
- Transporting items through the vessel as required, using lifting equipment.
- Assisting in the overhaul, repair, renew, or modification of the vessel's main engines, generators, compressors, and other engineering equipment.
- Maintenance and repairs on various vessels, including inspecting and repairing mechanical and structural issues.
Requirements:
- Time served as a fitter, able to read technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Slinging, Fork lift driving, and Mobile Elevating Work Platform experience would be great.
- Manual handling capability.
