About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Gardener to join our team at the National Trust. As an Assistant Gardener, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our gardens and grounds, working closely with our Head Gardener and team of gardeners and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planting and maintenance of shrubs, borders, and lawns
  • Operate a range of machinery and equipment, including tractors, hedge trimmers, and pedestrian mowers
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, answering questions and sharing knowledge about the garden and its features
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve garden maintenance and development goals
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects and initiatives to improve the garden and its facilities

Requirements
