Yard Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yard Assistant to join our team at MKM Building Supplies. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our yard and warehouse, ensuring that all goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the yard and warehouse operations, including receiving and dispatching goods, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supervise a team of yard and warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed, and that the yard and warehouse are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that all orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of warehouse and yard operations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Full driving license and forklift truck license (desirable).
