About You:

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as a Marketing Communications Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing and communications strategies to engage students and promote our services.

Purpose of the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing marketing campaigns across various channels to increase student awareness and engagement.
  • Overseeing data and insights collection to inform marketing decisions and ensure timely and relevant information is shared with colleagues.
  • Collaborating with the management team to devise and deliver effective marketing strategies that support our strategic plan.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on emerging trends and technologies in communication methods.
  • Ensuring compliance with branding and brand awareness across departments on physical and electronic assets.
  • Preparing detailed analytics reports on marketing and communication activities.
  • Organizing marketing activities for University Open Days and Applicant Days.
  • Managing confidential data on a membership database.
  • Ensuring GDPR compliance in all areas of marketing and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with relevant University departments and external partners.
  • Be the key initial contact for all press enquiries, working with the CEO to ensure adherence to the media policy.
  • Train and support elected officers with their marketing and communication responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a student union or similar organization.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, including campaign development and execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
