Job Overview:
Mech Electrics Limited is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial aspects of a significant £20m Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) project in Lancaster. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cost planning, budgeting, and final account settlements. As a key member of our team, you will deliver a high-quality service while maintaining cost control and profitability.

Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee the commercial and financial management of the project to ensure it stays within budget and on schedule.
* Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections to inform project decisions.
* Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments to maintain efficient project delivery.
* Prepare tender documentation and assess tender returns to ensure value-for-money.
* Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize costs without compromising quality.
* Monitor and report on project performance, highlighting potential cost overruns or savings.
* Attend regular site meetings and liaise with the project team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project success.

Requirements:
* Strong background in quantity surveying with experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for cost savings.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
