Job Summary

Paritas Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Settlements Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring a timely, accurate, and complete end-to-end settlements process for our Trading Desks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the resolution of any day-to-day operational issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Invoice Management: Complete the end-to-end invoicing process, including creating, checking, and dispatching receivable invoices across physical trades and secondary costs, as well as receiving, validating, and processing payable invoices across physical trades and secondary costs.
  • Brokerage Payable Invoice Process: Manage the brokerage payable invoice process, including errors and invoice amendments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of Finance Operations to drive efficiency and improved performance.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Provide review and commentary to team reporting and analytics, such as month-end open items reporting.
  • Settlements Issues: Resolve settlements issues to improve our balance sheet position on all settlement runs, including working with Finance teams to continuously evolve ways of improving the cash conversion cycle.
  • Counterparty and Billing Information: Ensure all counterparty, billing, and settlement information is in line with company policy and up to date.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of [X] years of experience working in settlements, ideally within a global commodities/energy company.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of trading, physical commodities, and straight-through processing from trading to accounting.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
