Job Overview

Paritas Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Settlements Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and complete end-to-end settlements process for our Trading Desks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve day-to-day operational issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Complete the end-to-end invoicing process, including:
  • Create, check, and dispatch receivable invoices across physical trades and secondary costs.
  • Receive, validate, and process payable invoices across physical trades and secondary costs.
  • Brokerage Payable Invoice Process.
  • Errors and Invoice Amendment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of Finance Operations to drive efficiency and improved performance.
  • Review and comment on team reporting and analytics, such as month-end open items reporting.
  • Resolve settlements issues to improve our balance sheet position on all settlement runs, including working with Finance teams to continuously evolve ways of improving the cash conversion cycle.
  • Follow team processes to ensure all counterparty, billing, and settlement information is in line with company policy and up to date.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in settlements, ideally within a global commodities/energy company (essential).
  • Knowledge of trading.
  • Knowledge of physical commodities (essential).
  • Knowledge of straight-through processing from trading to accounting (desirable).
  • Focus on operational improvement.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
