Job Title: Assistant Buyer

As an Assistant Buyer, you'll work closely with our Senior Buyer, Merchandising, Online, and GTM teams to develop and execute category strategies that meet our customers' needs. You'll be responsible for managing supplier relationships, selecting and negotiating product ranges, and analyzing trading performance to drive business growth.

To support your development, you'll have the opportunity to complete a Level 4 apprenticeship in Buying & Merchandising. This will help you build a strong foundation in buying and merchandising principles, as well as develop valuable skills in negotiation, analysis, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure alignment with category strategies
  • Select and negotiate product ranges to meet customer needs
  • Analyze trading performance to identify opportunities for growth
  • Support Senior Buyer in negotiating product ranges and pricing
  • Pricing product ranges in line with agreed category CPI targets

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a buying function, with a strong working knowledge of technical products
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organized, analytical, and numerate with good judgment
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer focus
  • Marketing/Merchandising/Retail/Business degree
