Job Title: Director, Fraud Risk Management

Our client is a leading provider of vehicle finance, rental, and insurance products, seeking a seasoned professional to lead their risk management function.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the risk function, working closely with senior management and the board to implement and maintain a robust risk management framework. This will involve fostering a culture of risk awareness, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to identify, monitor, and report risks to the company.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain risk management frameworks, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements, group requirements, and best practices.
  • Monitor key risk indicators and performance metrics to proactively identify emerging risks, escalating and reporting any deviations from established risk thresholds.
  • Lead comprehensive risk assessments, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities across various aspects of the business, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and financial risk.
  • Implement and manage an annual risk-based risk monitoring program, coordinating quarterly risk controls and formulating action plans with departments for identified deficiencies.
  • Test the adequacy and effectiveness of first-level controls, identifying areas for improvement and proposing corrective actions.
  • Maintain an up-to-date business continuity plan and coordinate BCP testing activities.
  • Promote a positive risk culture through risk training and awareness programs.
  • Support internal and external fraud investigations as required.
  • Provide regular reporting and communication on risk management topics to senior management and the board.
  • Offer support to the business in all risk-related matters, actively challenging the business where necessary.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or other relevant professional certifications are desirable.
  • A minimum 10 years' experience in risk management or a control function within the automotive finance industry or related financial services sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethical conduct, and regulatory compliance.

Salary: £75,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits.
