We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at St George's Hospital. As a key member of the Red Cell Pain Management and Psychology Service, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide psychological support to patients with haemoglobinopathies and those experiencing pain management challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver workshops, outreach, and patient participation projects to support patients with haemoglobinopathies and those experiencing pain management challenges.
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, including haematology doctors, community and hospital clinical nurse specialists, and social prescribing link workers.
- Provide consultation to other professional and non-professional groups, and develop complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional, and academic settings.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of education sessions, and participate in reflective practice and peer supervision.
- Work closely with our research team to promote the work of psychology and pain management within haemoglobinopathies through research, presentations at conferences, and teaching.
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course, and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings.
- Experience of psychological work with people with physical health problems, and representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
- Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis.
- Ability to identify and employ clinical governance mechanisms for the support and maintenance of clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour.
