Ambulance Service Call Handler

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Call Handler to join our team at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a Call Handler, you will be the first point of contact for patients in need of emergency medical assistance, providing clear and accurate advice to help them navigate their situation.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a high volume of calls from patients, gathering information and providing guidance on emergency medical procedures.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
- Develop strong relationships with patients, providing empathy and support during times of crisis.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and effective patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in emergency medical procedures.
- GCSE standard or equivalent in English, or previous call handling/customer service experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to punctuality, flexible shift working, and understanding of 365 day/24 hour rostering.
