About the Role

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Market Supervisor to join our Market Supervision team. As a Senior Market Supervisor, you will play a critical role in combating market disruption and abuse across European equity and derivative markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Cboe Rulebook, Participant Manual, Code of Market Conduct, the Market Abuse Regulations, and various strategies used to commit market abuse.
  • Monitor transactions on Cboe for market abuse using automated alerts and complex tools, ensuring all potential breaches are escalated promptly to the team.
  • Carry out investigations of potential market abuse, making recommendations internally for referral to the appropriate regulatory authority.
  • Support the development of the market abuse framework and assist with the development of analytical tools used to monitor and investigate potential market abuse.
  • Mentor existing and new surveillance staff, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of Cboe procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct enquiries with trading participants regarding anomalous activity.
  • Ensure accurate records of potential market abuse reviews and investigations are maintained.
  • Analyse and maintain surveillance alerts and review statistics.
  • Perform regular alert calibration and deep dive exercises.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory developments in respect of market abuse and the overall exchange landscape.
  • Oversight of trade and transaction reporting data.
  • Periodically review market surveillance procedures and perform updates in line with business growth and applicable regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience working within the financial industry, with knowledge of surveillance tools and market abuse regulation desirable.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a quantitative or finance-related subject preferred.
  • Technical proficiency in working with large data sets across various data-exploration and data-visualisation software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to take a structured approach to investigating potential anomalies and assemble evidence to support a conclusion.
  • Numeracy, with a grasp of statistics to support data investigation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak and write with clarity and impact, keen attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively individually and collaboratively in a team, develop relationships (internally and externally), and identify opportunities for change and challenge appropriately.
  • Good interpersonal skills, creating and developing relationships both internally and externally.
  • Accountable, organised, methodical, flexible, and able to follow up findings in an efficient and thorough manner.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
